Our Work
Disrupt.ed Sustainable Seed Grant and Pitch for the Planet Event
In June and July 2024, Disrupt.ed organized an online fundraiser, successfully raising 91,825 INR to empower women from low-income communities. This initiative provided five women, who had previously participated in skill training workshops by the Gulmeher Foundation, with grants of 10,000 INR each to help them launch small-scale, sustainable businesses using their newly developed skills. Additionally, 20,000 INR was donated to the Gulmeher Foundation to bolster its ongoing efforts, while 10,000 INR was contributed to Gurudwara Lalgumbad in support of community programs.
Following the fundraiser’s success, Disrupt.ed held a Pitchfest at Gurudwara Lalgumbad in July 2024. Women from previous Gulmeher Foundation workshops presented their sustainable business ideas, with grants of 10,000 INR awarded to the five most promising pitches.

Disrupt.ed Holi Workshop
Building on the success of previous workshops conducted in collaboration with the Gulmeher Foundation, we conducted a skill-training workshop to train participants in creating sustainable and environmentally-friendly gulaal (colors used for the Indian festival of Holi) using flowers and vegetables. This was then sold through the It’s A Vibe Instagram Page and marketplace, with all funds being disbursed among workshop participants.
Disrupt.ed Christmas Goodies Workshop
In December 2023, building on the success of the Rakshabandhan and Diwali Workshops, Disrupt.ed conducted an engagement with young girls and women from nearby low-income communities, as part of which instructors from the Gulmeher Foundation interacted with participants, using materials provided by Disrupt.ed to create Christmas-themed festive handicrafts, which were then sold on the Its A Vibe instagram marketplace, with all proceeds going towards workshop participants.
Disrupt.ed Artisinal Product Range
In October 2023, we launched the Disrupt.ed Artisanal Product Range, which involved creating sustainable and environmentally friendly products while simultaneously supporting owners of small businesses in the Indian economy. This range included a facial scrub made from orange peels sourced from local fruit vendors, with more such products in planning for the future. These products were then sold through the It's A Vibe Instagram page and marketplace.
Disrupt.ed Diya-Making Workshop
In October 2023, building on the success of the Rakhi-Making Workshop, Disrupt.ed organized a similar engagement with girls and women from underserved communities at the Gurudwara Lalgumbad Camp, Sadhna Enclave, New Delhi, in collaboration with the Gulmehar Foundation. As part of this workshop, participants were taught how to decorate diyas, oil lamps associated with the Indian festival of Diwali, using sustainable materials and techniques. These diyas were also sold through the Its A Vibe online marketplace, with all proceeds being returned to the workshop participants.
Disrupt.ed Rakhi-Making Workshop
In July 2023, Disrupt.ed organized a Rakhi-Making Workshop at Gurudwara Lalgumbad Camp, Sadhna Enclave, New Delhi. As part of this workshop, the girls and women participating in the program were introduced to foundational concepts in sustainable entrepreneurship, with the aim of providing participants with the knowledge and skills necessary to pursue their own sustainable businesses. In addition to this, skilled experts were brought in from the Gulmehar Foundation, to teach participants how to make rakhis - simple, eco-friendly handicrafts associated with the Indian festival of Rakshabandhan. These rakhis were then collected and sold through Its A Vibe, an online marketplace for sustainable handicrafts, with all proceeds going directly to workshop participants to support their entrepreneurial endeavors.
Disrupt.ed Camp
In July, 2022, I organised a workshop on financial literacy for women at the Gurudwara Lalgumbad Camp, Sadhna Enclave, New Delhi. This workshop was held in collaboration with the International College of Financial Planning. I had the opportunity to discuss the importance of saving, budgeting, investing, and financial planning with a group of women, ranging from ages 12-40. I distributed easy-to-understand pamphlets written in Hindi that covered these topics to all those who attended the camp.
